Set over 12 floors, the Electrical Engineering Building is home to some of the best views across campus. The building houses two lecture theatres and multiple classrooms of varying sizes, the largest of which can fit over 100. As home to the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, a community of around 1,200 staff and students, this building is a metropolis of innovation and inspiration. - The building is also home to the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), which has a history dating back to 1870. Electrical and electronic Engineering is at the forefront of tackling the most urgent global challenges in energy, healthcare, security, smart technology and communications.
- Notable alumni include Alan Blumlein, inventor of stereo sound and Maria Petrou, EEE’s first female professor and developer of novel image recognition techniques and prolific scientific author.
