With a refurbishment completed in 2018, the City and Guilds Building boasts modern industrial architecture and the latest in technology and design. All venues are accessible via the foyer and concourse area which can be hired as part of your event. Guests can enjoy college artefacts on display including a flight simulator and original 19th Century bell and clock mechanism.

Discover the unique City and Guilds Building

  • The first City and Guilds Building was erected on the site the former City & Guilds College building, constructed in 1885.
    The building is still home to the College’s original 19th Century bell and clock mechanism which can be viewed in the main foyer.
  • City and Guilds College merged with the Royal School of Mines and Royal College of Science to form Imperial College London in 1907.
  • The building was renamed in 2013 in honour of the College’s historical connections to the City and Guilds London Institute.
